Free Online SQL Formatter for BigQuery, Snowflake, PostgreSQL & more
Format SQL across cloud warehouses, relational databases, and analytical engines with native-aware parsing, private processing, and an instant Git-style diff.
Built for Precision & Reliability
Engineered for data engineers, analysts, and developers working with complex cloud queries.
Native AST Engine Formatting
Uses authentic GoogleSQL / ZetaSQL C++ binaries for BigQuery, Microsoft ScriptDOM for T-SQL, and AST-level Rust parsers for the other SQLFusion dialects.
Monaco Git Diff Inspection
Compare original messy input directly against formatted output with side-by-side Monaco diff viewer and visual change highlights.
Private by Default
Normal formatting is ephemeral and unlogged. Internal failures can be shared only through an explicit, editable private bug report.
GoogleSQL Pipe Syntax (|>)
First-class formatting support for modern SQL features including GoogleSQL pipe query syntax (|>) and complex CTE pipelines.
Customizable Style Rules
Configurable line length limits, keyword casing (UPPERCASE/lowercase), function casing, and pipe-clause breaking rules.
How to use the SQL formatter
Format a query in three quick steps. Choose a dialect from the editor or one of the dedicated pages, paste your SQL, and press Format. Review the formatted output, open View Git Diff to inspect every change, then copy or download the result. The editor keeps a separate local draft for each dialect so switching pages does not mix a BigQuery query with a Snowflake or PostgreSQL sample.
- Choose a dialect. Start with BigQuery, Snowflake, PostgreSQL, or another supported engine.
- Paste and format. Adjust casing and line length when your team has a preferred style.
- Review and copy. Compare the diff, then copy or download clean SQL.
Frequently asked questions
Which SQL dialects can I format?
The formatter supports BigQuery (GoogleSQL), PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, ClickHouse, Snowflake, DuckDB, SQLite, Oracle, Databricks SQL, SparkSQL, Apache Hive, Amazon Redshift, and generic ANSI SQL.
Does the formatter understand dialect-specific SQL?
Yes. BigQuery uses the native GoogleSQL parser, SQL Server uses Microsoft ScriptDOM, and SQLFusion handles the remaining dialects. Features such as STRUCT and UNNEST, QUALIFY, FLATTEN, JSON operators, APPLY, and pipe syntax are kept intact.
Is my SQL query stored or logged?
Normal formatting requests are processed in memory and are not retained or logged. Your draft is kept locally in your browser so it can survive a reload on the same dialect page.
Can I compare the original and formatted SQL?
Yes. After formatting, choose View Git Diff to compare the original query with the formatted output side by side in the editor.
Can I customize keyword casing and line breaks?
Yes. The Options panel lets you change keyword and function casing, maximum line length, CTE indentation, query breaks, and GoogleSQL pipe-stage breaks where supported.
